The Mass — The Central Act of Christian Worship
At Saint John the Baptist, our worship is rooted in the Anglo-Catholic tradition of the Anglican Church. The Mass is the central act of our common life, in which we are gathered together 'with Angels and Archangels, and with all the company of heaven' to offer praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God.
Our liturgy follows the historic Book of Common Prayer, preserving the beauty and reverence of centuries of Anglican tradition. Through sacred music, incense, and the careful ordering of prayer, we seek to create an atmosphere of awe and mystery that draws the soul toward God.

The Sacraments
Holy Eucharist
The central sacrament of our worship, in which we receive the Body and Blood of Christ under the forms of bread and wine, in accordance with His command.
Holy Baptism
The sacrament of initiation into the Body of Christ. We baptize infants and adults, welcoming them into the family of God and the fellowship of the Church.
Confirmation
The rite by which those baptized in infancy make a mature and public affirmation of their faith and receive the strengthening gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Matrimony
The lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, blessed and solemnized by the Church in the presence of God and the congregation.
Holy Orders
The sacrament by which men are ordained to the threefold ministry of Bishop, Priest, and Deacon for the service of God's people.
Unction of the Sick
The anointing of the sick with holy oil for healing of body, mind, and spirit, following the apostolic practice described in the Epistle of James.
The Daily Office
In addition to the Sunday Mass, our parish maintains a daily rhythm of Morning and Evening Prayer drawn from the Book of Common Prayer. This ancient practice of the Daily Office sanctifies the hours of the day and unites us with Christians throughout the ages who have prayed these same prayers.
All are welcome to join us for Morning Prayer at 9:30 AM and Evening Prayer at 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. On feast days of the Church calendar, a Mass is offered at 6:30 PM.
Sacred Music
Music has always held a central place in Anglican worship. At Saint John the Baptist, our Sung Mass on Sunday mornings features traditional hymns and choral settings that have been the heritage of the Church for centuries.
Sacred music is not mere decoration but an integral part of the liturgy itself — a means by which the whole congregation, with one voice, offers praise to God.
